Kendra (Matt's cousin)I have visited monthly since my mom told me about Brynn years ago. Sarah has grown into a five-year-old who has seen Brynn's pictures and has prayed for her during our night-time prayers. When I have a day, as a mother, when I am stressed or feel overwhelemd, I have visited and read your entries...and I gain a ton of perspective. And now, it has been so great to hear how well she is...So don't stop posting! You have all been in our thoughts...2/2/2009

Vicky AmdalCongratulations on this HUGE milestone in your lives! YEAH...no more chemo! As for the trip to GKTW...take advantage of the ice cream at all hours! We went in 1998 with Lauren and Chelsea and it is awesome. You will get to do a character breakfast at the village and it's great. If you want any other info let me know and I will share. There is also a Super Walmart right by the village in case you forget anything. Also, you might want to look into a makeover at Cinderella's castle. It looks magical! Email me if you need any more help. ~Vicky 10/28/2007

NANNIE & PAPPYOUR HOLIDAY WAS MADE SO SPECIAL BECAUSE WE HAD FAMILY TO VISIT. WAS SO GREAT TO HAVE ALL THE ACTIVITY AROUND OUR PLACE, WITH LOTS TO SEE AND DO. THANKS MATT, HALLEY, BRYNN AND PAIGE FOR THE COMPANY. CHAMOIS IS STILL SAD THAT SHE LOST HER FREINDS. THINKING OF YOU WITH THE SCHOOL DAYS OUT AHEAD OF YOU BRYNN AND PAIGE, HAVE FUN AND GOOD LUCK. 9/4/2007
Sue AledwanHalley - I think it's natural for us to always consider "what if" when something is wrong with our other kid(s). Who would have ever dreamed that a symptom of a limp or a stumble would translate to cancer? Our lives are not normal so it would probably cross anyone's mind after having lived through what we do. Hang in there. When we have these fears, at least for me, they linger for a few days and for the most part, they become distant memories before you know it or at least until the next crisis arises :) Will be thinking of you guys next week for the final LP!! 9/4/2007
Aunt KathieHey all! It's great to hear that the first week of kindergarten went well--congratulations, Brynn, on this new stage in your life! Your cousin Wendy had middle school orientation yesterday (where they rotate briefly through all their classes/classrooms), and she reports that all of her teachers are really nice. So she's less nervous about her new stage, too! 9/1/2007

Trish FulcherHello, You do not know me. I grew up in Wenonah, NJ and was visiting my dad's grave there at the cemetary. I found Bradley Caraker's grave site and was touched by his picture and age. I searched online to see what his life was about and found your caring bridge site. I wish you the best as you battle and fight the Leukemia in your child. I have a friend who's 3 year old is fighting the same now. He has downs syndrome and is at Johns Hopkins now receiving cord blood. They will be there six months. My heart goes out to you. Prayers and thoughts for healing for you! Trish Fulcher trishbr@aol.com8/12/2007

FrannieI picked a yarrow plant. It is one of my favorites and it has beautiful yellow flowers. It is a healng plant used in some herbal medicines. I have loved yarrow since I was a little girl, I always thought it was unique . It started small last year but it has grown about 5 times the size it was last year. Byrnn made such an impression on me the day I met her. She has such an inner strength, and spunk. Her eyes tell it all she is bright and beautiful just like the yellow flowers. As soon as my camera is back I will take a pictue and send it to you. Give Brynn a big hug for me. Tell her I think of her everyday. lots of love 6/5/2007

Sue AledwanHey there...no reason to feel guilty cuz my little man needs a year extra of treatment. Nannie BakerHi Brynn~ Always have you beside me in heart. Wondering if you, Paige and Mommy are having a fun day in this beautiful sunshine. It's great to think that everyone shares that bright sun, with it's wonderful energy. Keep your chin up, honey. Pappy and Nannie know what a brave girl you are. Good bye, for now our sweet sunshine. 3/20/2007
FrannieI dont know if Brynn would be allowed to use but when my eczema is bad after coming of steroids for my asthma, I use dead sea salt. I dont know why but that takes the dead skin off but moistuizes then I use tons of aquafor. Avoid hot water. Steriods always make it better at first but then the rebound is worse each time. (sorry) I hope all is well. I think of Brynn everyday, and miss that sweet smile. Just wanted you to know that I pray for her everyday. Tons of happy thoughts for you guys. love you lots Frannie3/12/2007

Sue AledwanSounds like things are good. It's so great that the girls are so close in age and have each other. Love, Sue 3/9/2007

Stacey (Raugh) ClintonHey Brynn- I check your site when I get a chance. I think of you everyday and just want to let you know you bring a bright light into our day everytime I think of how brave you are and what a great job you're doing!! 2/5/2007
Sue AledwanHoping all went well with the LP today! Thinking of you.......2/1/2007
SueI can feel your frustration and I'm sorry you're stressed about the rash. Noah has had a recurring rash on his face...it comes and goes...flares up and subsides at least for a month now. The oncs say that rashes are SO common with kids undergoing treatment and that they are mainly attributed to the methotrexate. I don't worry too much about it. Just about everyone at our clinic has also dealt with their share of rashes. My advice? Go have that lunch with your girlfriends..and maybe a massage!! Be good to yourself. Things will be fine with Brynn.1/19/2007
GaleTide is a terrible irritant. I suggest wash all her clothes and sheets etc. in "ALL Free" and use NO fabric softner. Instead use 1/2 cup of vinegar in the wash and can also add to rise. Rids items of germs and prevents static cling in dryer and doesn't smell. All Cotton clothing, sheets etc. help as well and yes the vinegar keeps them really clean and fresh. Hope this helps.1/19/2007
Sue AledwanGlad to hear things are good! 1/4/2007
Karen & Abigail StanfieldWe will always have our "what ifs". That is actually why you saw us at clinic. I had too many "what ifs". I had convinced myself she had relapsed, but I'm thankful to say I was wrong. It was awesome to see you - I am missing all of our Friends so much. All our love & prayers - Karen & Abigail 1/2/2007
Sue AledwanSorry for the tough time Brynn's been having...it will pass! Don't forget how AWESOME she's been doing since she's been diagnosed! Minor bump! Matt shares the same birthday as my best friend...who turned #40 on the same day this year. Neat! I know 2007 will be fabulous. Just remember.....when Brynn is done with treatment, Noah will only have one more year to go! LOL. Such luck with boys! Sure love Brynn's song. I'm going to look but I suspect the same artist created/sang Noah's song! Anyway, many hugs and prayers to you for the year ahead. Keep in touch. Peace & love, Sue1/1/2007

Sue AledwanHalley- I know how we moms get paranoid when things "aren't 100% right". We let our imaginations run wild...but we tend to forget that kids without cancer still get tummyaches, viruses and colds too :) Hope things are better today.6/16/2006

Ann ChambersMatt & Halley, you have two beautiful little girls:> I have kept Brynn in prayer since learning of her illness. What I do know is that "GOD" is a miracle worker. As a mom and Grand Mom to a 2 year old, I can imagine what you as parents are going thru. We are only "good" when our children are doing well and are happy. I am gladly contributing to the fundraising effort and only wish I could do more. My prayers continue for Brynn as well as the entire family. What a wonderful website. I could just hug this beautiful child forever:>3/2/2006

NANNIE (NAN)/ PAPPY BAKERFebruary is such a special month. Though, with it's cold days, we all feel as if cabin fever might be taking us over. There are so many silvery linings. The Henry's have two bright occasions, plus some extras-your (1) birthday Brynn on the 10th (Nannie shared that day with you), Valentine's Day on the 14th, President's Day the 20th and then one very special day for your family-Mommy and Daddy's (2)5th anniversary on the 24th. So we will keep smiles on through this wintery month. Because of a call Mommy gave Pappy and I this morning we have reason to celebrate this day also. You did not need a blood transfusion when at CHOP @ King of Prussia-your counts were good and you seem to be doing well on your own. We thank God for your remarkable progress. My time with you, Paige, Mommy and Daddy last week seemed to fly by. I am happy that you like the knitted caps Nannie makes.Every stitch has been made with LOVE. The next one is almost finished and in the mail. Sending lots of hugs and kisses. 2/13/2006

Karen T.Oh,my,how the journal entries from both of you not only touch my heart but also tares it apart. I can only imagine what you must go through each day, how very hard it must be for you but as a mother and a grandmother I share in what those feelings and emotions must be like and continue to keep you in prayer. May His strength sustain every minute of every day and may healing come to your precious Brynn. I also want your families to know they are in my prayers knowing what a blessing they are to all of you. MAY YOUR BELIEF IN GOD'S LOVING CARE ENABLE YOU TO LOOK INTO THE FUTURE WITH CONTINUED BOLDNESS AND CONFIDENCE! GOD BLESS! 1/29/2006
Dotti KylerTo Brynn: I never had the great honor of meeting you but heard so many wonderful things about you from your Grandmother Sandy Baker and Grandfather George. I just want you to know that seven years ago, I lost all of my hair, too, because I had to take chemo like you have had to take. I just want you to know that God watches over all of us and your hair will grow back more beautiful than ever. Sometimes it even comes back curly. You and your family are in my prayers and the prayers of many friends who love you. Keep smiling your beautiful smile and someday when I am in Pennsylvania where you live, I hope I can meet you. I am sending you lots of prayers, love and hugs from Florida. I will check your website to watch your progress. Bye bye for now, Brynn. We love you. 1/26/2006
NannieI am wipeing away the tears as I write this entry. Having just read Matthews entry to Brynns journal. These tears are very mixed in emotion: Ones a grandmother sheds with worry & concern, ones of confidence in Brynns good progress and ones of thankfulness for a son in law and daughter with great strength through these threathening times for their little daughter, lastly for gifts of family and friends who lend support to lift us up. All of this possible from faith given only by our dear Saviour. Go Gently with renewed health Dear Brynn into the future. Love Always, Nan 1/26/2006
Noah's momMatt, What a beautiful journal entry. You and Halley are a wonderful team and will see Brynn through this. I can relate to each emotion the two of you go through...the highs as well as the lows. The fears seem to be somewhat universal among parents going through this....and although it probably feels like an eternity since Brynn's dx, in your gut you might feel as if you can't believe that you and your family have held up as well as you have for 5 months already. Everything is going to be ok. We pray for you guys all the time. Good luck tomorrow. Much love. 1/24/2006
Kris SarnoskiHi Matt- This is Scott Stefanides's cousin Kris. He forward this page from Kevin's wife Andrea. It has been a long time...and I'm very sorry to hear what your family is going through. Your daughter is beautiful and the same age as my oldest son. I can't imagine what you go through each day. Our middle son has autism, which is difficult...but no where near what your family faces. Please know that you're in my family's thoughts and prayers. 1/23/2006
Andrea McIntireHalley and Matt, I'm happy we caught up last week but I'm sorry your family is going through this. Kevin and I think about you and the girls a lot and we hope that Brynn keeps getting better and better. We'll be in touch and we'll definitely see you at the fund raiser. 1/20/2006

Susan Stoudnour ArnoldHi Brynn- I am an AML survivor of 15 years. I was 18 when I lost all my hair due to chemo. It will surely come back! In the meantime, smile and laugh. It will bring joy to your heart and tears of happiness to your loving family surrounding you. I only know of you by my uncle and Dad (Tom and Jim Stoudnour, Saxton, PA). Your parents will know of them. God has a precious plan for you. You have some much more to do in life! Lots of sled-riding and running to come!! (I now have 2 young boys!) Many continued prayers for you and your family..............1/18/2006

NannieHi Brynn The trip that Mommy, Paige and you made to the clinic, on this wintery day, was on my mind all day. It is always wonderful to get past one more diagnostic test, learning that all is well. Your EKG and electrocardiogram were normal. How glad I am that you are such a strong and brave girl. Pappy and I had such a fun day, last Sunday, with you, Paige, Mommy and Daddy. Do you remember Paige, being a purple dragon and trying to catch us? She has such a scarey GROWL. Oh yes, your Chrismas tree is so beautiful. Daddy picked out just the right one. Don't you just like to stand and look at it with all the beautiful, sparklely lights and ornaments. Sweet Brynn, keep those bright eyes and beautiful smile. You will grow up being loved by all who come in contact with you. May strength grow with you in the days and months ahead. I pray constantly for you to be free of leukemia. My arms are around you always. Bless you, Nannie 12/12/2005
Pam Hi Halley, Matt, Brynn and Paige, Hope this week is better for you. You are always in my thoughts and prayers as well as my entire family. Emily lights a candle for Brynn when we go to church. Mom, Dad and I think about you all the time...wondering how you feel and if you still like mac'n cheese so much :) When I take those steroids, I sure eat a lot of pickles. It sounds like you are doing really great which makes us very happy. Lots of hugs.12/1/2005

Beth MylerDear, Dear Halley, Matt, Brynn and Paige: I talked to Jen today and just heard.I cannot express here the depth of my sadness for all you are going through. I wish terribly that I had known earlier and been able to help in some, any way possible. You have often been on my mind since our trip to the zoo...this all must have happened just after...the website has caught me up, but i miss your voice. We are sending our love, our hope, our prayers and our support. I wish that I could see you all and wrap my arms around you. Please let me know how I can help when you are able.-----Beth10/20/2005
Karen & Abigail StanfieldHi Brynn - It was good to see you & Mommy in clinic today. We have been wondering how you have been doing. I hope your punctures weren't too bad and I pray you and Abigail both get good news from the results. Abigail & I should check back into CHOP on Tuesday, October 18th and the transplant between Abigail and her Sister, Victoria, should be on Friday, October 28th. If you come to clinic and have time - come up to see us. We will pray for you to get better. Have fun at home & play hard! Doug BakerThanks to all who are contributing to this important site; especially the Parent's Journal. It is nice to be able to stop in during the day - whenever possible - to get these updates on Brynn's progress. Truly it is progress as she battles forward with every step. God give her strength and may that determined furrowed brow carry her through these rough days. 10/11/2005
MOM/NANNIEHOW DOES ANYONE GIVE A MESSAGE EXPLAINING FEELINGS OF THE HEART. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS ACHING FOR A LOVED ONE. THERE HASN'T BEEN A MOMENT THAT I WISHED TO CHANGE PLACES WITH OUR BRYNN. GRANDPARENTING HAS ALWAYS BEEN PICTURED IN MY MINDS EYE AS GENTLE AFFECTION, MIXED WITH GAMES, IMAGINATION AND NEW ADVENTURES DISCOVERED ALL OVER AGAIN THROUGH YOUNG EYES. WHEN GRANDCHILDREN HURT A GRANDPARENT SHOULD BE ABLE TO HEAL THOSE BOBO'S. THIS TIME BRYNN WILL BE IN THE HANDS OF MEDICAL EXPERTS FOR HER PRESCHOOL YEARS. LET OUR FAITH IN GOD AND IN HIS SON JESUS'S ABILITY TO LAY HEALING HANDS. GIVE HER WINGS TO LIFT HER TO HEALTH AND HER LIFE TO FULFILLMENT. ALLOW HALLEY, MATTHEW HOLD HER CLOSE AND GIVE THEM STRENGTH TO WATCH OVER HER WHILE SHE IS BEING TREATED. KNOW THAT BRYNN AND HER SISTER PAIGE ARE HOLDING HANDS NOW, SMILING AND WALKING RIGHT INTO A BRIGHT FUTURE. 10/10/2005
